Clear Creek School District: Community wellbeing audit

Happy Cities led its Colorado partners in a Happy Mapping Audit for the Clear Creek School District site in Idaho Springs, a mining town that is assessing opportunities to diversify its economy and tax base. This work, coupled with an independent economic modeling analysis, presented solutions to make potential development sites more appealing as well as strengthen tax and job density in the county. Guided by Happy Cities, workshop participants representing an array of key stakeholders, who rarely interact directly, identified ways to support well-being and development potential at six publicly owned sites in the town. Fulfilling County aims, the flagship site, a former high school that had been vacant for a decade was sold to a private developer within months.
