Homes and shared spaces designed with an inclusive lens can support residents of all ages and abilities. (Happy Cities)

Happy Cities and Meaningful Access Consulting are working with the City of Port Moody to review proposed development applications for accessibility.

These reviews apply an inclusive design lens early in the development application process, strengthening meaningful access for residents of all ages and abilities.

We integrate international, national, and local standards and best practices to assess the proposed project's potential to provide homes and shared spaces that meet the needs of a diverse range of community members. The audits consider elements such as:

  • Universal design

  • Mobility and navigation

  • Sensory accessibility

  • Inclusive public spaces

  • Equitable access

The reviews span projects including:

  • New building designs

  • Public space enhancements

  • Streetscape improvements

  • Urban infill projects

  • Redevelopment of key city sites

This work builds on accessibility planning expertise, together with Meaningful Access Consulting, and our aging in place housing audits.
