Heart of Fleetwood Engagement

Happy Cities led engagement for the City of Surrey’s Fleetwood Plan.

Happy Cities led engagement and developed recommendations for the City of Surrey’s Fleetwood Plan. We conducted focused engagement with an array of stakeholders—including community, business and political leaders, and representatives from the Surrey Urban Indigenous Leadership Council—to hear their priorities, concerns, and to develop a set of project recommendations. In particular, we wanted to learn about land use planning, active transportation, and the impacts of extending the Surrey SkyTrain line.

This project used three online engagement tools to identify strategies to improve Fleetwood’s urban centre: stakeholder interviews, surveys, and a digital workshop. Engagement promotion included posters and lawn signs to inform the residents and encourage community input. Happy Cities summarized engagement findings to inform the community plans for the project.
