Operations Manager & Accessibility Specialist

Isabel has diverse experience working for not-profit and consultant firms, advising on how walking and rolling enrich public spaces, create community ties, and act as a catalysts for physical and mental health.

Isabel has collaborated on multidisciplinary projects locally and internationally, including airport safety, municipal transparency, and public engagement.

Isabel is a Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility-Certified professional with over 12 years of experience advancing inclusive design in Canada and Spain. She applies extensive and practical insights to create and consistently improve inclusive, people-first design and facilities operations. She also conducts accessibility design reviews from transit systems to public beaches, and supports the development of municipal accessibility plans across British Columbia and beyond.

She has coordinated dozens of public engagement activities at Happy Cities for diverse communities in both English and Spanish. Known for her down-to-earth communication style, Isabel builds trust with community members and fosters meaningful dialogue.

She has led non-profit initiatives such as Living Streets in Metro Vancouver, coordinating walking tours that promote active movement and community connection across municipal, health, education, and community sectors.

As Operations Manager at Happy Cities, Isabel oversees finance, HR, and organizational systems, applying analytical and process management skills to interpret complex datasets and ensure clarity, rigour, and practical implementation in project delivery.
